Abstract
Along with the growing demand for information technology and telecommunications services, the telecommunications industry is challenged to meet the demand of availabilitiness of more qualified telecommunications services, affordable, and at cheaper price. One of the things which has become a concern in the telecommunications industry is the availability of infrastructure that seem less able to offset customer demands. Lately, there is a new technology that many people expected would provide many benefits for the telecommunication industry. This new technology was known as HAPS (High Altitude Platforms) a vehicle took place at an altitude of 17-22 km, which serves as a relay station to the surounding area. This technology combines the advantages of satellite and terrestrial systems, that can provide wireless services in areas which are relatively large (up to 200 km), with a capacity that far exceeds the capacity offered by the satellite, and it is expected to have more economic value because it´s cheaper and profitable than existing technologies. This paper will discuss the analysis of Techno-economics of HAP, including the scenario that can be applied for business models, especially in the city of Bandung. The end result of this research will show the possibilities of investment in HAP in several parameters such as NPV, IRR and payback period.
