Abstract :
A modelling approach for a multi megawatt wind energy conversion system (WECS) is presented. This encloses: a) the coupling between the rotational wind speed fluctuation seen on the blade and the dynamics generated by tower bending and blades flap, and b) the dynamic induced by system´s asynchronous generator. It is shown that system dynamic is considerable influenced by the afore mentioned coupling, because is causing essential changes of the model in midrange frequency. Therefore the utility of a frequency model for control law synthesis in full-load regime is highlighted.
