Abstract :
This paper proposed a universal two-level changeover circuit of super-capacitor bank for energy storage systems. Using the proposed circuit, the energy utilization efficiency can reach a higher level while the bank voltage fluctuation is limited at a smaller level. This reduces the required size of the energy storage systems and hence cost reduces. Furthermore, the circuit is relatively simple for practical engineering applications and the amounts of switches used in the circuit have been limited to the theoretical minimum amounts. At last, an automatic circuit-drawing program was developed. It draws any two-level changeover circuit required for super-capacitor bank with simple operations.
