Abstract
Automatic person verification has become a crucial problem in networked society. Providing authorized access to a person is a challenging task. To resolve all these issues, biometrics has emerged as an important and effective solution. Although many biometrics have been proposed, public acceptability and privacy concerns remain a block to implementation in public services. Another concern is computational overhead in real-time scenario. This paper discusses a new method and its related analysis that based on palm print verification using local binary pattern (LBP) to capture the palm print texture. Experimental results demonstrate that this technique is simple, highly accurate and takes less time to process the palm print image.
