Abstract
As we know the Domain Name System (DNS) is one of the most successful and critical part of the internet infrastructure today. Of the many network protocols we use in networking today, it is one of the most fundamental. Yet there are a number of potential problems where there is a need for additional mechanisms and security. One of such problems is securing the DNS dynamic update when combined with DNSSEC. This paper is topropose developing techniques for enhancing the security of DNS dynamic updates as well as the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) updates by using Berkley Internet Name Domain (BIND) version 9.8.1 and configuring it with cryptographic hash algorithm so that every time an update is made to the zone to add a record, it is done using a private security key.
