  • Abstract
The stationary code BFCPIC (particle-in-cell code based on boundary-fitted coordinates) was extended from 2D to 2.5D in cylindrical geometry with ∂/∂θ =-0. The main results for an ion diode with an applied magnetic field B are presented and compared to experimental information. It is demonstrated that stationary PIC-codes are a useful tool for the experimentalist, who optimizes pulsed power ion diodes and wants to learn details about particle physics of his devices.
