Abstract
A boost type high frequency inverter with PFC function for induction heating applications is presented. Usual dual stage boost-type half-bridge inverters have PFC converters as DC source voltages at the first stage. These inverter systems have many circuit components, their circuit constitutions are complex, and they are low in conversion efficiency. This paper describes characteristics of the proposed one stage high frequency inverter circuit system for induction heating, including its steady state operation in detail, its operational simulation results, and finally comparison between the simulation and experimental results obtained from a breadboard.
