  • Abstract
The software product line SPL is an approach aimed at increasing competitiveness through planned and systematic reuse. However, there are problems for companies to adopt this strategy, especially by the changes involved in its development process. The SPL adoption requires identifying the chances and barriers that organizations can have on adoption. This paper presents an analysis to determine the feasibility of adopt the approach SPL in small software development entities in the context of the local software industry. This study aims to characterize the local software industry and to identify a remarkable set of companies that have potential for adoption of the SPL approach.
