  • Abstract
    Multicast Broadcast Service (MBS) in relay system is attracting more attentions in next generation wireless communication systems. However, traditional transmission scheme requires the base station (BS) to distribute MBS data to relay node (RN) in the first place. After that, BS and RN broadcast the data to user equipment (UE). Such procedure can be improved by the proposed Phase-I Broadcast (PIB) transmission scheme with rate selection. The PIB scheme improves the throughput and delay of MBS in relay system. When BS distributes MBS data to RN, PIB allows BS to broadcast to UE and RN simultaneously. A rate selection (RS) algorithm is also proposed to adjust the transmission rate of PIB during retransmission. Considering the number of retransmission and delay bound, we may achieve higher throughput and lower delay for PIB with RS.
