  • Abstract
    This paper studies a novel flat winding contactless transformer with sandwich construction magnet core applied to contactless power supply (CPS) system of high speed transportation. With 3D finite element methods (FEM), this paper investigates inductances of primary and secondary with different structure, analyzes the iron loss, and obtains the magnetic field distribution as well as the power transmission characteristic. The results in this paper verify that the novel transformer will greatly improve the power transmission performance of CPS system and verify the feasibility of the CPS system for high speed Maglev train.
