Abstract
This paper presents magnetic levitation test results of the time-divided torque and suspension force control type bearingless motor. The motor structure, principle of the torque and suspension force and control strategy have been conducted. The torque and suspension force have been simulated by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using a machine model. As a result, it is estimated that the rotor shaft is stably suspended without mechanical contact. In this paper, the magnetic levitation tests are carried out using a prototype machine. The validity of the proposed control scheme is verified by the test results.
