  • Abstract
In this paper, we consider the problem of designing a proportional integral (PI) observer to estimate the state and unknown constant disturbance for bilinear time-invariant systems. The design of the proposed PI observer is based on Lyapunov stability. Sufficient conditions are given for the existence of a stable observer. The proposed observer can also be used in step-shaped fault detection. The effectiveness of this method is verified by numerical examples.
