Abstract
This work describes the optimization process of a dual band antenna by using two evolutionary method: Evolutionary Programming (EP) and Particle Swarm (PSO). These techniques have been used to increase the bandwidth of each band. The bandwidth criterion is that the return loss must be less or equal to -10dB. The antenna has been made by two single antennas: Planar F-Inverted Antenna (PIFA) and patch antenna feed by coplanar waveguide (CPW). The whole antenna has got only one port fed. The antenna is designed to cover the wireless applications (GSM-1800, UMTS and WLAN).
