Abstract
In recent years, introducing video games in classrooms has emerged as a motivational element which encourages learning processes. Several studies have identified some significant elements that should be considered in order to maintain the effectiveness of these games. In this paper, we focus on the incorporation of digital storytelling as one of the main elements to maintain the students´ motivation and to facilitate meaning and learning processes on the basis of properties such as curiosity, attention or fun. In particular, this paper presents some considerations for students of 3 to 5 years. It also presents, as an example, the most significant elements of the process followed to incorporate digital storytelling into the educational videogame “Ato´s Adventure”, whose educational goal is to train grapho-motor skills.
