  • Abstract
    A new compact MIMO antenna layout with high isolation and low cross correlation is proposed. The MIMO antenna comprises two identical antenna elements with couple-fed and inductive shorting strip covering 1710~2700MHz with VSWR 3:1. It achieves the generation of λ/8 resonant mode at about 1.75GHz. Each antenna is placed oppositely at the edge of the system circuit board of the mobile handset with 100*50*1mm3, and occupies a very little volume with 10*20mm2 respectively. The measured isolation is better than -20dB and the maximum envelope of the cross correlation is 0.17 over the desired frequency operation, which are very attractive for the present wireless communication commands. Results of simulated and tested are presented and some key parameters are also discussed in this study.
