Abstract :
There is growing tendency that mechanical parts are replaced by electronic or electro-mechanic devices. This means more electrical energy is needed and fuel consumption of the charging system is getting higher. In the charging system, battery is crucial part for maintaining energy. Battery roles both electric energy supplier if the vehicle electrical system is not being supplied sufficient amount of energy from the alternator, and electric energy consumer in case battery´s state of charge is low. Battery is needed to be charged well to supply electrical energy and crank the engine. For this reason, alternator consumes kinetic energy of the vehicle to charge. This process affect to fuel economy directly. Nowadays, vehicle controls alternator charging status to get additional fuel economy. For the better fuel economic system, we tested charging system with various batteries. In this report three types of batteries will be used for the test to know fuel consumption effectiveness on various batteries.
