Abstract :
Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON) appear as a potential solution to cope with the increasingly growth of data traffic demands on Internet. The paper gives a tutorial overview of the control plane in ASON, concentrating on its architecture, function and security. Different kinds of protocols related to control plane and their flaws are analyzed. At the end of this paper, various methods of attacks that may be confronted with are presented and discussed.
