Abstract :
A novel Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) algorithm based on improved channel estimation is proposed in this paper in order to improve the spectral efficiency and ensure robust and spectrally-efficient transmission in Single Carrier Frequency Domain Equalization (SC-FDE) systems over time-varying channels. That is, the maximum throughputs of the communication systems must be achieved on the premise of maintaining acceptable performance like target Bit Error Rate (BER). Firstly, a SC-FDE adaptive transmission simulation system is established. Secondly, a novel AMC algorithm based on improved channel estimation is proposed. Then based on the above simulation system using the proposed algorithm, the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) switching table and the optimal MCSs over Rayleigh multipath channels are given. Finally, the simulation results show that: under the premise of maintaining the target BER, The simulation system performing the proposed algorithm has higher system through put and maximizes spectral efficiency.
