Abstract :
The electromagnetic fields from power-frequency systems, especially those generated by overhead high-voltage power lines, are a subject of growing concern among the population. In this paper, because of their presence in many residential areas, magnetic field exposure from 110 kV overhead power lines is investigated. A software tool, based on the Biot-Savart law, has been developed, validated and used to compute magnetic field distributions for common configurations of 110 kV overhead transmission lines of the national power system. Computed results confirm that the exposure levels fall within the national and international guidelines.
