Abstract :
We show that a kind of chiral bilayered metamaterial exhibits asymmetric transmission for linearly polarized electromagnetic waves propagating through it in two opposite directions. Calculations indicate that the asymmetric transmission can be tuned by varying the slit width. The proposed metamaterial can function as a perfect transparent polarization transformer at certain frequencies.
