Abstract
It is theoretically demonstrated that one-way Tamm plasmon-polaritons can be formed at the interface of magnetophotonic crystals and metal, at frequencies above the bulk plasma frequency of the metal. The main requirements are that the dispersion curves of such surface modes lie outside the light cone for the metal, and simultaneously fall into the photonic band gap of the magnetophotonic crystal. The nonreciprocal properties of Tamm plasmon-polaritons are caused by violation of the periodicity and time reversal symmetry in the structure. Calculations on transmission spectra as well as field distribution are employed to verify the results we have obtained.
