Abstract
Average Scene Cumulative Histogram (ASCH), first introduced in our previous researches, is defined as the average after the sum of histograms of all frames in a scene; however, many important properties are not discussed yet. In the present paper, we point out that, under thorough sampling, ASCH can not only reflect various observation angles of a scene, but also the observation habits and laws of human beings for the corresponding scene. By making use of multiple color space (MCS), we apply ASCH to the classification of video scenes. Experiments indicate the correctness of the preceding finding and the effectiveness of the application of ASCH in the scene classification.
