Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effect of treating post cerebral infarction depression by Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle. Method: For syndrome differentiation acupuncture group, 30 cases were treated according to syndrome differentiation; for Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle group, 30 cases were treated by time points; both groups were matched with basic treatment and evaluated by the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD), Barthel index (BI) which is also called daily living ability scale, self-rating depression scale (SDS) as the evaluation index. The treatment period was 4 weeks. Results: 1. Comparing HAMD, BI, SDS score before and after treatment in each group, the differences were statistically significant (P<;0.05); 2. Comparison between the two groups had no significant difference (P>0.05); 3. Total effective rate between the two groups had no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: Both Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle and Syndrome Differentiation acupuncture therapy have good therapeutic effect on the treatment of depression after cerebral infarction; the effective rates are similar with each other; with small stimulating amount and simple operation, the Eight Methods of Intelligent Turtle uses less acupoints and proves to be convenient and safe. Therefore it is worth of clinical application.
