Abstract
This paper presents an analysis based on recent Electric Power Research Institute research in which a comparison is made between the “loss factor” calculated directly from annual simulations and a loss factor estimated variously from established equations and published papers and articles. The analysis provides new insights into the use of loss factors in estimating feeder losses. Sources of possible errors are identified and quantified.
