Abstract
In this paper, stability of a three-phase single-stage boost inverter is investigated in both stand-alone and grid-tied modes of operation. The state-space-averaging method is employed to develop the dynamic models of the stand-alone and grid-tied boost inverter the synchronous dq-frame of reference. Inverters are normally employed in renewable energy conversion systems, therefore their dynamical models are desired for the stability analysis of these systems. In this paper, the state-space averaged models of the boost inverter are used to obtain the eigenvalues of the boost inverter under stand-alone and grid-tied models of operation. Furthermore, the validity of the state-space-averaged models is verified through experimentally obtained results.
