Abstract :
This paper proposes an optimal trajectory control strategy for a series resonant converter applied to induction heating under low load conditions. The main differential aspects are the resistive resonant tank and the variable load inherent to domestic induction heating systems. An analytical and simulation study is performed, focusing on the variable induction load and operating conditions. As a result, an improved pulse density modulation pattern is proposed to provide optimized dynamical performance, reduced component stress, and linear output power control. The feasibility of this proposal has been verified by means of a domestic induction heating inverter.
