Abstract
Ad-hoc networks are highly dynamic, self configuring, and decentralized network. Various routing protocols have been proposed to make efficient data transfer among different mobile appliances in ad-hoc network environment. These protocols are proactive, reactive, hybrid etc. This paper is mainly deal with AODV which is a reactive routing protocol. As, during the last few years mostly routing protocols of ad-hoc networks were simulated as a function of mobility, number of nodes, and size of the network but not as a function of route maintenance parameters; such as active route timeout (ART) and delete period. So, main aim of this paper is simulating and analyzing the proposed routing protocol near its default values of route maintenance parameters with IEEE 802.11/b MAC protocol in random way point model for a fixed number of nodes using NS-3 in constant scenario. Results have been analyzed based on packet delivery ratio and net throughput for different values of ART and delete period constant in tabular form and graphical manner. Paper conclude that best performance is delivered by AODV protocol at ART=2.5 and delete period constant=5.
