Abstract
We demonstrate experimentally a downstream capacity of 20Gbps for our proposed FDM PON system. Using simulations, we derive the necessary improvement to reach a total capacity of 40Gbps. This would require an increase in the usable RF bandwidth to 12GHz as well as an improvement at high frequencies of the system´s RF response.
