  • Abstract
Consonance was studied to solve the symphony of Chinese plunked instruments. Analysis of acoustic features and subjective evaluation were applied to study the influences of timbre on consonance of musical dyads of Chinese plucked instruments. Based on correlation analysis, factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis, the consonance evaluation model was proposed. The result showed that the consonance of musical dyads was related with spectral centroid, spectral flatness, attack time and roughness in attack segment. According to the result, the more sharpness and noisy the dyad was, the less consonant it was. The interrelatedness among the model predictive values and the subjective evaluation values amounted to correlation of more than 80%, which indicated this model predictive ability was good.
