Abstract
This work has been carried out using field application of well established electrical principles in VIT University expanded electrical distribution system. Most electrical wastages are located and their magnitude assessed. Techniques typical to the system were employed for power reduction and consequent energy savings for lowering the electricity bills from TNEB and for decreasing diesel consumption. Many conclusions have been arrived after adequate and realistic experimentation both in the laboratories and the field.
