Abstract :
We propose a simple memory management method that can release dynamic memory from user processes promptly when requested, leaving the operating system untouched. The traditional process retains unused memory areas that are useful to other processes because modern operating systems do not collect freed dynamic memory promptly. The proposed simple method can be used seamlessly together with other memory management methods, and can also be very useful especially in embedded systems without secondary storage, long-running programs or the stop-and-copy style garbage collectors.
