  • Abstract
    Content delivery service for providing content to a larger number of recipients is based on client-server fashion in general. Since the burden on the content server can be increased as the number of recipient grows, peer-to-peer networking has been studied and adopted by various industries and applications. It had been studied that users with similar preference request or search for the similar content. Based on the similarity called small world, it is possible to recommend the content in which the user may interest. In the service with client-server fashion, recommendation is easy to implement because the service provider-side server manages the information on the relation between the provided service and user but the service with peer-to-peer networking is in different situation. Peer-to-peer networking based service, especially the service using a server called tracker managing peer-to-peer network cannot provide recommendation because the server does not have the description on content shared in each peer-to-peer network. This paper shows how content delivery service based on peer-to-peer networking can support content recommendation.
