  • Abstract
    Embedded systems became an essential part of the devices that we use in our daily life. Therefore, ability to develop embedded system applications became a sought-after feature. Based on this demand at Istanbul Aydin University we are carrying out Embedded systems course both in theoretical and practical sessions. We are giving the basics of a embedded system structure and they can develop their own applications on an embedded processor. We are using OMAP-L138 experimenter kit for our laboratory sessions. We prepared hands on experiments that starts from a simple Hello World application and carries out to applications consisting digital signal processing algorithms and complex graphical user interfaces. We applied a small survey to our students and commented on the impression that we have during the lab sessions. The students feedback and our impressions matches on the same result showing that our course gives the basic notion and a good introduction to embedded system application development.
