Abstract
In this paper we report on our experience made when measuring different radiation patterns of a multi-antenna handheld terminal. In order to avoid unwanted effects from surface waves on a connecting cable we equipped the terminal with a programmable wireless transmit module. Parasitic effects due to the presence of the device holder of the positioner in the anechoic chamber are analyzed by numerical simulations resulting in recommendations for optimal positioning.
