Abstract :
IPD™ technology offers an aggressive process in terms of drawing lines, on a low loss glass substrate. This process is widely used for low frequency circuits (1-10 GHz). In this paper, we investigate the potential of IPD™ to deliver affordable and high performance solutions for circuits and antennas in the millimeter-wave bands. We first present a microstrip line exhibiting 0.75 dB/cm insertion loss at 60 GHz. Then, a branchline and a QLQC coupler is designed, optimized and measured. Finally, a Vivaldi antenna is proposed for endfire radiation.
