Abstract :
In this paper we analyze the link between an UAV and a ground control station in a wooded area for study the possible use of space diversity methods. We reproduce the UAV link by performing experiment using a remotely controlled airship and a four channel receiver with two orthogonally polarized patch antennas. We present the possible values of diversity gain and its dependence on antennas mutual distance and elevation angle. Moreover we compare the results with data from an open field measurement.
