Abstract :
Theory and experiment of an aperture-coupled antenna with a parasitic element mounted in a layered sphere are presented in this paper. Electromagnetic fields have been calculated with the aid of linear Rao-Wilton-Glisson (RWG) triangular basis functions and Dyadic Green´s Functions (DGFs). A prototype of this antenna is fabricated and tested and the effect of the parasitic element on antenna characteristics is investigated. Good agreement between the results shows accuracy and high convergence speed of the presented method.
