  • Abstract
A novel broadband two-way waveguide power divider (patent pending) is proposed in this letter. It is based on a simple five-port structure, in which good phase and amplitude consistency between two output ports is guaranteed by its structure symmetry. A sample device is designed, fabricated and measured. In a fractional bandwidth of 12.12% around the center frequency of 33 GHz, measured results from the sample divider show that the insertion loss is lower than 0.1 dB, isolation between two output ports higher than 18 dB, phase difference between the two output ports smaller than ±0.75 °, amplitude error smaller than ±0.1 dB. The proposed divider can also be used as power combining component, from which compact multi-port power dividing/combining networks with excellent phase and amplitude consistency and high isolation between output ports can be integrated.
