Abstract
This paper presents a modified control strategy for better control of multilevel CHB rectifiers. The proposed controller enhances the dynamic behavior of the CHB rectifiers while it uses a low frequency (150 Hz) modulation method. The rectifier eliminates all current harmonics up to the 29th harmonic and well behaves at steady state and dynamic conditions. Moreover, the proposed strategy does not have any dependency on converter parameters and leads to very low switching loss. To verify the validity of the proposed strategy, several simulations are carried out in PSCAD/EMTDC environment at different operating conditions.
