Abstract
Due to the fact that most of current E-learning systems have problems of insufficient personalization, this paper puts forward the idea that completes the personalized knowledge search based on the open source E-learning system, then constructs domain ontology that are used to build user interest model, and finally, this model is embedded in Notch search engine to realize the personalized knowledge search. These techniques make the orientation of the E-Iearning system based on learner´s learning interests and preference information to adapt to the characteristics of learner curriculum resources and to create a personalized learning environment. Experiments have shown that, through the creation of ontology based on the user interest model, the personalized knowledge search can effectively enhance the learner´s learning interests and meet the needs of individual learners´ learning.
