Abstract
Within this paper a model is presented which is used to simulate the behavior of an axial-flux squirrel-cage induction machine under stator fault conditions. The different fault conditions are taken into account by means of the multiple coupled circuit theory. The faults considered are stator short circuits which occur near and far away from the supply terminals. Furthermore the fault case of an open circuit coil is demonstrated. First the system equations of a healthy machine are shown. Then the different fault impact on the system equations is introduced. The needed inductances are calculated applying the winding function approach. Finally the received simulation model is explained and the simulation results in case of different errors are presented. A Fast Fourier Transformation is used to discuss the different effects of the faults.
