Abstract :
The KY converter, which possesses fast load transient response and nonpulsating output current, is a good topology to overcome the drawback of the traditional nonisolated Boost converter and it will be gaining popularity in engineering applications in the future. In this paper, based on the averaging method, the small signal model of the open loop KY converter, which especially covers the energy-transferring capacitor and the switching frequency, is established and analyzed. The bode diagram of the corresponding derived transfer functions show that the energy-transferring capacitor and the switching frequency have an important influence on its dynamical behaviors. Finally, the effectiveness of the established small signal model and the correctness of the theoretical analysis are confirmed by the circuit simulation results from the PSIM.
