  • Abstract
Automatic configuration and optimization of networks is a key concept in Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems. Handover (HO) performances are differentiator indicators among mobile networks. In this context, we propose a self-organized solution for the LTE handover parameters set up, based on mobility performance indicators that are accurately specified by the standard. The proposed solution consists in a two-stages procedure: a direct set-up of the HO parameters relying on Page Hinkley HO-based decision followed by a closed, iterative loop to further optimize the initial configuration according to the current radio conditions and using Simulated Annealing approach. The performances are evaluated using an LTE system simulator and considering different user speed profiles. These results prove the efficiency of the proposed solution to minimize HO late detections while maintaining false alarm probability to a minimal level. We also observe a significant gain compared to static, sub-optimal manual settings.
