Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is a condition of interest to clinicians around the world and is one of the chief causes of death. In Korea, cardiovascular disease is the second largest cause of death following cancer, and is classified as one of the four major diseases, making an early diagnosis of cardiovascular disease essential for proper and timely treatment. Although the risk of cardiovascular disease is recognized in Korea, there is a lack of quality studies regarding the disease. In the present study, a prediction model was developed which allows for the calculation of the risk of cardiovascular disease among Korean patients. The prediction model for cardiovascular disease was developed using a discriminant analysis based on the data set of Korean National Health and Nutrition Examinations Survey V (KNHANES V).
