Abstract :
The X-band SAR/GMTI sensor PAMIR of Fraunhofer FHR now offers a simultaneous bandwidth of 3.6 GHz corresponding to a relative bandwidth of 40 %. This opens up ultra-high resolution capabilities in airborne wide range SAR imaging. In this paper the actual sensor realisation is described and several generic examples of SAR images with man-made objects offering a geometrical resolution down to 4 cm times 1.5 cm (range; azimuth) are presented.
