Abstract
In this paper we evaluate efficiency of our new clustering algorithm (ALEC) by modeling the network behavior during set-up and steady-state phases of the algorithm for CH and non CH nodes. We investigate the effects of sensing reliability and clustering period on the network lifetime. We also analyze the power consumption and delay overheads of the clustering algorithm. According to the results, energy consumption and delay overheads of ALEC algorithm is very low and acceptable. The results also show that longer network lifetime can be achieved by higher values of clustering periods and lower values of sensing reliability.
