Abstract
Cognitive Radio (CR) is one of the promising emerging technologies in wireless communications. Cognitive radio is developed specifically to overcome the scarcity of the spectrum. It promises to enable secondary unlicensed users to utilize the same spectrum of the primary licensed users on condition not to cause degradation in the prirnary user´s performance. This paper focuses on the existence of secondary users on the same charmel of the primary user while guaranteeing certain Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio (SlNR) for the primary user. We propose an enhanced algorithm that solely depends on the secondary users´ selections to utilize their spectrum based on interference threshold specified by the primary user using the available information among players. The proposed algorithm guarantees improved operation of the cognitive system while relieving the complexity of involving the primary user into the steps of the Stackelberg game.
