  • Abstract
Because of large amounts of heat generation, rolling bearings of heavy load and high speed can have a severe effect on the temperature field of the whole transmission system. Meanwhile, the excessive deformation caused by high temperature can badly affect the bearings´ working reliability and lifetime. With the theory of friction and thermal conduction, heat flux and heat transfer coefficient for different areas of the bearing are precisely calculated. The three-dimensional finite model of the bearing is built up in ANSYS, and the steady temperature field is obtained, which provides the basis for thermal deformation of the bearing. The effect of different speeds and radial forces on the steady temperature field is also analyzed.
