Abstract :
The lightpath reconfiguration performance of the stackable ROADM module with an optical amplifier has been evaluated experimentally for use in IP-over-CWDM ring networks. The lightpaths could be reconfigured and amplified successfully to connect longer distance than the allowable value without amplification. The packets could be switched to a new direct lightpath in the network such that the congestion was removed. The amplifier module is fully compatible with the stackable module for reconfiguration, and can be controlled remotely by a control and management system.
