  • Abstract
In this paper, comparative analysis is done between two phase compensations and wide area control system based PSSs for multi-machine system. The comparison is mainly based on the co-ordination of two cases-different types of fault analysis and variation of loads connected in the system. One and two phase compensation PSSs have been used in this analysis where rotor speed deviation for each machine is utilized whereas in case of wide area control system based PSS, rotor speed deviation of both local generator and remote generator are taken into consideration. Rotor speed and terminal voltage responses of each machine have been observed in order to compare the settling time and oscillation range so that best PSS can be ascertained establishing enhanced reliability of any power system.
